Rope & Drag Branding
At the 2026 Cattlemen’s Ball, guests are invited to watch a live rope and drag branding happening on-site!
On June 6th, a group of local ranchers will be putting on a rope and drag branding for Cattlemen’s Ball participants to watch. This event is more than just a showcase of skill – it’s a celebration of generations coming together to honor the heart of ranching tradition. From seasoned cowhands who’ve spent decades perfecting their technique to the next generation just learning to toss a loop, everyone plays a role in keeping the spirit alive. This event connects modern ranching methods to values of stewardship, care and community effort.
The brand that is placed on the calves not only marks a ranch’s identity, but also a promise. A promise to care for the cattle and to provide consumers with safe, nutritious beef. The rope and drag branding is a living symbol of how sustainable food starts with people who value both their traditions and animals in their care.
The event will begin immediately following Opening Ceremonies, estimated to start around 1:30 PM.
The pen will be set up outside the main fence line, allowing guests to watch without a Cattlemen’s Ball ticket. For those inside the ticketed area, bleacher seating will be available for a comfortable viewing experience.
